US health care reform

I second President Obama's health care plan which introduces mandatory health insurance. A part of wages of employees will be deducted due to appropriation for medical expenses under the helth care plan which is similar to Japanese system. But, because abortion-inducing drugs are also included in the medicines, Catholic church opposes to the plan and has brought lawsuits by insisting that the helth care plan is contrary to religious faith. Abortion has been one of the most serious issue in the US and Candidates foe president has disputed on it. But it is hard for Japanese to understand the reason why such religious issue becomes obstacle to health care reform.
